This past weekend, Derek Burdette and Ryan House put up an incredible battle at CIF - Southern Section Masters Tournament.   

Ryan House came out the first day and beat a top seeded wrestled, then lost his next two matches in very close battles each time.

Derek Burdette wrestled a total of 7 matches, and ended up taking 10th place in the medal rounds.  The heartbreaking piece of that news is that only the top nine medals advance to State this weekend.  However, Derek's performance at CIF and Masters has earned him the highest placing wrestling this year in the Seaview League, and we are very proud of both him and Ryan for their efforts this past weekend.

Although the HBHS wrestling season is officially over, Derek and  Dustin Burdette, and Ryan House will be traveling to Ohio at the end of March for a campus visit to Notre Dame College, where they are all three entertaining scholarship offers to wrestle for the Notre Dame Falcons in the Fall of 2009.    

We also have several Freshman and Sophomore wrestlers that will be heading to Fresno to compete in the Frosh/Soph State Tournament in two weeks - Good luck to all of you!

Congratulations to all the HBHS Wrestlers for a very successful season as Seaview League Runner-Up team, participation in CIF Team Duals for the first time ever, advancing 8 wresters to CIF Individual Championships, 2 wrestlers to CIF Masters, and one placer at Masters this weekend.

You all have done an awesome job this year, and we could not be more proud of this team!  Invitations for the banquet will be mailed this week, and the date is March 29 - See you all there!!
